HOT Fusion Restaurant Menu

Goal: This project was to create a menu for a new Tex-Mex meets Thai restaurant that features HOT food. Very HOT food. There’s a real focus on HOT food.

Challenge(s): Creating an image that sufficiently reflects the amount of heat intended to be served. Building a sample menu when the final dishes have not been determined.

Solution: I decided to do most of this shoot in post production and generate the menu text content with an assist from AI. The root image for all of these is only the fork and pepper. The flames and smoke were added in post production which gave more precise control over their colors and placement. An AI prompt with a quick description of the restaurant gave me the text for the dishes. Two options were provided for the cover since the name was still being decided – in Ignite and the other Chili Chada (chili for the pepper and Chada for Thai royalty). On the reverse of the menu you can see that the cover image was reversed to appear as though you were looking at the back of the cover.

Result: A series of bright, crisp, energetic images that clearly convey the message of hot food with sample menu items displaying the fusion of Tex-Mex and Thai foods. The photographs can be used in social media, menus, cards, wall displays, food truck wraps, and more.
